Marseille Bamboo Dinner Plate

Marseille Bamboo Dinner Plate
Marseille Bamboo Dinner Plate

10" dinner plate featuring a tricolored mini stripe pattern from Canadian designer Xenia Taler, made from lightweight and durable bamboo fiber.

Alexis & Anil are requesting 4 of the Marseille plates.

  • Xenia Taler's bamboo products are made from industrial manufacturers’ discarded bamboo. Excess scraps are gathered from bamboo furniture or chopstick manufacturers and ground into a powder.  The bamboo powder is mixed with corn starch and a food grade melamine binder, then molded into tableware. Xenia Taler tableware is free of PVC, BPA and all phthalates.

  • Bamboo is a renewable resource that grows quickly without fertilizers or pesticides and is an organic material that will biodegrade when buried in the ground. The melamine binder will break down at a slower rate than the bamboo, but ensures longevity and durability.

  • Made in China in a manufacturing facility that is third party audited to uphold health and safety standards, humane work hours and fair wages.

  • Dishwasher safe? Yes. We recommend using the top rack and no prolonged soaking.

  • Can it go in the microwave? No. The bamboo material will not react well to extreme temperatures above boiling or below freezing.

  • Will it scratch? Normal forks and knives will not scratch the surface. The use of steak knives is not recommended.

  • What happens if I drop it on the ground? This product will not shatter like glass or ceramic and will not usually break when dropped but it may crack or chip if it hits a hard surface like tile or concrete.
